General Manager's Welcome

Welcome to Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. We are committed to safety, patient-centred care, communication, teamwork and accountability. These values underpin the goals and development of our health services.

The Hospital has achieved and maintained full accreditation status in the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards, Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP). We also have teaching and research links to the University of New South Wales, University of Sydney and University of Western Sydney, offering supervised undergraduate placements and encouraging recruitment of motivated new graduates.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital offers great opportunities for professional development and advancement. We foster improvement and innovation, and attract staff who share our values and believe that they can help us achieve our goals.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is committed to providing the highest level of care and attention and we welcome your feedback.

If you have any questions or are concerned about your treatment in hospital or in the community, I encourage you to discuss these concerns with the nurse, doctor, or other health professional involved in your care. They may be able to resolve your issues immediately or they can refer you to a more senior member of staff.

Alternatively, you can contact the Patient Liaison Officer who brings staff and patients together in an effort to resolve any issues they may have regarding the provision of care they receive at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.

We have always remained a community-centred Hospital, committed to involving consumers, carers and community members in the decision-making process. We value your contributions at all levels of the organisation and encourage you to become a Community Participation Representative which gives you an empowered and coordinated voice when decisions are made for the local community.

As a clean hands hospital, Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is committed to preventing hospital infections. To assist us, we ask that all visitors and staff use hand hygiene gels before entering and leaving the hospital wards and after patient contact.

I look forward to welcoming you to our Hospital in the future. If we can help you prepare for your admission to Hospital or with any other query, please feel free to contact us on (02) 9722 8000.
